Inverness city centre Great Easter Egg Hunt set to return
Families are being encouraged to put their detective skills to use as the Great Easter Egg Hunt returns to Inverness city centre.
Inverness Business Improvement District (BID) has joined forces with the Eastgate Shopping Centre to stage the popular family event, which has been missing from the city’s calendar for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Now in its 12th year, it will take take place on Friday and Saturday when the challenge will be to track down 42 eggs.
A raffle is also taking place to win a giant Easter egg crafted by Belgian chocolatier Lucas Story of the Victorian Market.
The event will raise money for the Archie Foundation which supports children in hospital and their families.
Entry forms for the Easter egg hunt, which takes place both days between 11am and 4pm, can be obtained outside the steeple at the corner of Church Street and High Street or Eastgate’s food court area.
Ten eggs will be hidden in the shopping centre with the remaining 32 scattered around the city centre, Old Town and Victorian Market.
Four £50 Eastgate vouchers will be up for grabs with winners to be picked at random from all the entries.
Raffle tickets, costing £2, are available before the event from Eastgate retailers and the Archie Foundation.They can also be bought during the event from the registration desk in the food court where the giant egg will be on display.
The raffle will be drawn at 4pm on Saturday. Runner-up eggs have been donated by M&S and Hotel Chocolat.
The Easter fun also includes arts and crafts for children along with face painting.
