A search for the best home bar in Britain may have found its winner in Inverness.
Clover Club is hidden in the basement of a family home in Inshes, and can host parties of up to 100 people – but some of its nearest neighbours might not even know it exists.
It has been entered into a competition run by Liberty Games and belongs to mergers and acquisitions specialist Ken Mack and his wife Victoria.
The couple own homes in Inverness, Marbella and Dubai and have invested more than £100,000 in soundproofing and a club-quality sound system.
Investor and entrepreneur Mr Mack (35), whose parents live in the city, said: “When I entered the house into the Best Home Bar in Britain competition, they wrote back to me to check it really was a home bar and not a private nightclub.
“It is in the basement of the house, and to anyone who didn’t know it was there – it is unlikely they would ever know.
“Only once have my neighbours been bothered by it, and that is when someone who was coming to one of my parties went to the wrong door.”
The bar is set up in the style of a bar in Ibiza, and even has a pool table.
Mr Mack said it was a love of music that saw him complete an overhaul of the sound system.
“We asked the sound engineer from Eden Court to come out and give us a hand when we had our sound system installed, it really is top quality,” he said.
“When we bought the house, the club in the basement already existed and DJs including Fatboy Slim had played in it.
“After the lockdown, I am planning a party with DJ Mallorca Lee, of Public Domain.”
