A new mobile café has opened for business in Culloden.

The food van Whisk On Wheels, a mobile extension of the Whisk Away café based in Baron Taylor's Street in Inverness, has started serving food and hot drinks.

The van is open on weekdays from 8am until 2pm opposite the Dental Clinic and Blacksmiths on Alltan Place.

Whisk Away owner, Nyomi Dixon, said she was very happy of this new start.

"We had a steady morning and many people from the neighbourhood came over to try out our food.

"We've had a few sell outs so we will make more of the popular choices.

"I am really looking forward to a busy season. We will be here during the week and at weekends we are basically fully booked until the end of August. The next one is an event during the Jubilee's weekend.

"I think we've had a positive feedback from locals so far, we wanted to offer something different and bring an option for a cafe here in Culloden."

Ms Dixon will be running the van together with Grigor Smith in the coming weeks. This comes as the city centre cafe celebrates its first year of activity on June 1st, with a party involving free cakes planned on the day.

Their menu is available online on Whisk Away's Facebook page.
