THE couple behind city travel agency Inverness Travel are harnessing their inner secret agent for a very special international mission.

Scott and Sarah Murray are taking on the Travel Trade Crusade, where teams from the travel industry participate in a road trip across Europe to raise funds for charity.

Scott and Sarah will set off in 1960s fancy dress in a Maserati that has been specially decorated to match the Austin Powers-style theme. The road trip starts today and continues until Tuesday.

Teams from across the UK are participating and will compete with each other in a series of challenges that will take them through France and Germany, finishing in a secret location on the final day.

Each team raising funds for their chosen charity and this will be the latest fundraising effort for Step Up for Sam, Inverness Travel’s chosen charity for 2019, and follows a recent quiz event in May. Three-year-old Sam Douglas, from Inverness, has an undiagnosed neurological condition which causes epilepsy and global developmental delay, and needs regular intensive courses of CME and other therapies.

Mrs Murray said: “Scott and I are excited to take on this challenge as part of our year of fundraising for Step Up for Sam. We’ll be driving across Europe and taking on challenges against the other teams, complete in Austin Powers fancy dress.

“The Travel Trade Crusade is just one way we are raising money for Sam this year. While there is no cure for his condition, there are a number of therapies and treatments that can give Sam the best chance of gaining some independence, but these come at great costs.

“We hope to raise £5000 and appreciate all donations, small or large.”
