The festive season is a time of joy, and nowhere is this more evident than at Eastgate in Inverness. Every year, the centre transforms into a winter wonderland, offering a truly magical experience for visitors of all ages. From dazzling lights to Santa's grotto, exciting entertainment and of course great shopping, Christmas at Eastgate is a must-visit destination for anyone in search of festive cheer.

Mark your calendars for the grand light switch-on ceremony in conjunction with Highland Hospice and The Highland Council. Gather at High Street entrance at 11am to take part in Santa's parade and get up close and grab a selfie with real-life reindeer in Falcon Square (11.00-14.00) from Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, Aviemore. Your little ones can enjoy free festive face painting, while you enjoy a winter 'feastival' at Loch & Larder and a spot of Christmas shopping before gathering at the tree for the countdown at 16.00 when Nicola McAlley, Miss Scotland Chelsie Allison, Highland Voices and others light up Eastgate & Inverness City Centre.

For children, the highlight of a visit to Eastgate is undoubtedly a trip to Santa's Grotto. Upon entering Santa's Grotto, children are greeted by Mrs Claus and cheerful elves, before they have a chat with Father Christmas himself. The joy and wonder on their faces are truly heartwarming.

The Grotto is open 25th November to 17th December every Saturday & Sunday 11.00-16.00, costs £7 including a gift and can be booked at www.eastgateshopping.co.uk

In addition to Santa's Grotto, Eastgate Shopping Centre hosts a range of exciting entertainment throughout the holiday season. From toy testing and school choir performances to storytelling sessions and Elf School, there's always something happening to keep visitors entertained.
