Choir’s Inverness performance hits right note for cause

Inverness Choral Society raised £1500 for charity and entertained the public at the same time.

The money will be split between the society and Mikeysline following the weekend performance in Eastgate Shopping Centre in the city.

Spokeswoman Carol Brown said up to 50 members took part and more funds were expected from online donations. She added: “That takes a few weeks to get sorted out.”

She said there was a good turnout and, for some younger members of the public, it would have been the first time they had seen such a performance. She said: “They seemed to be so appreciative.

“The little ones may not have had the experience before because we have not performed since 2019.”

As well as Christmas carols their programme included Messiah, which was well received, and one shopper said It was so nice to hear live music.
