An Inverness branch of the Yorkshire Building Society hopes to improve the lives of local disabled adults with a generous charity donation for digital equipment.

Leonard Cheshire’s Cheshire House received £1911 to allow service users in the Highland capital to get PCs for stimulating activities like online games, puzzles and YouTube.

They will also be able to go online to do research for projects, do online shopping, and attend health appointments by video call.

Stuart Robertson, Leonard Cheshire’s director for Scotland, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation for their extremely generous donation.

“The last few years have demonstrated the huge benefits which technology can bring to the lives of disabled people.”

Leeann Keenan, manager of the Society’s Inverness branch, said: “We are so pleased to be able to support Leonard Cheshire in our community with this donation.

“The work that they are doing to support disabled adults in Inverness is providing a real benefit to their lives, and we hope this funding will support people for years to come.”
