The Scottish Highlander Photo Archive (SHPA) has marked the first anniversary of publishing their photobook Vintage Vehicles in Inverness and the Highlands with a big donation to Mikeysline.

The printing costs were generously donated by car sales company Dicksons of Inverness with the agreement that any surplus profit would be donated to the mental health charity. A donation of £500 has now been made following a year of sales of the book, which is available at Dicksons’ showroom in the Carse, and in the Victorian Market Sweet Shop in Inverness.

Dicksons also donated the “Mikeyslinemobile” Kia Rio car at the beginning of 2022, and since it hit the road, the charity has been able to reach 3000 more people for support, information sessions, workshops and collaborations in schools and businesses.

Mikeysline CEO Emily Stokes said: “We knew that having a dedicated car would be a game-changer in enabling us to expand our support and services further and we are so grateful to Dicksons for enabling us to affordably reach more distant locations from our main base in Inverness, while increasing our visibility due to our car’s branding.

“We are also so grateful for the support from Adrian Harvey and Dicksons in helping to promote Mikeysline and raise funds through the photobook.”

Adrian Harvey of the SHPA said: “We were very pleased when Dicksons came forward to collaborate with us and cover the publishing costs of our book.”

Jim Mackenzie, of Dicksons, helped set up Mikeysline seven years ago.

“I’ve been keen to involve Dicksons and find ways to support such an important cause ever since,” he said.
