A charity car wash will be held tomorrow to raise money for Mikeysline.

Organiser Robert Murray, of valeters SR Reflection, said he wanted to raise cash to support the suicide prevention charity.

Customers are welcome from 8.30am at the firm’s premises at 43A Harbour Road, Inverness.

In a bid to help even further Mr Murray also wants to give away two mountain bikes – one for a boy and one for a girl, aged between six and nine years old.

He said: "I have had several conversations with parents telling me how hard this lockdown has been on the kids.

"I always knew it would be hard but it’s not until you are talking to a parent you realise how bad things are."

He added: "If we can make a couple kids smile I will be very happy.

"The message we’re trying to send is ‘it’s okay not to be okay’.

"I think if we can get our kids to accept this and talk more they might have a better chance in life.

"I suffer from depression and mental health issues. Mountain biking really did save my life. If I have a bad day I can go out on a bike and feel so much better.

"We are looking for one boy or one girl who should get the bikes. We want to hear how lockdown affected them and how they coped.

"This is not a raffle or an auction, we just want two kids who you think deserve the bikes."

To nominate a child visit the SR Reflection Facebook page or email Mr Murray on spongerob2449@live.co.uk if you would prefer not to share details online.
