A charity-run care home is hosting a celebration day to mark all the hard work that has gone into the facility by residents and staff over the last few years.
Isobel Fraser Care Home in Mayfield Road will be holding a fun day tomorrow (June 3) to raise money for the residents, and to mark the opening of its new extension.
Running from 1.30pm - 4pm the whole community is welcome along to the event that will see a children’s treasure hunt, a baking stall, raffle and a plant stall with things for sale from the Isobel Fraser garden.
Speaking more about the day, senior carer Kara Mackay said: “We are really looking forward to our celebration day, and it is our first big event since the pandemic.
“We will be using the opportunity to fundraise for the residents, which enables us to take them on trips and have performers into the complex.”
The new extension that has recently been added on will be opened by the oldest resident and the youngest member of staff.
Local band, Strumness will also be on hand to lead the tunes throughout the day, and a BBQ will be served throughout the afternoon.
“We’re hosting this the same day as the big Caley game, so I hope that people can come along and help us celebrate”, said Kara.
“It’s free admission, so the more the merrier!”
