A SIXTH person is reported to have died following an outbreak of the Covid-19 virus at a care home on Skye.
Home Farm care home in Portree, was rocked by news of the outbreak when the first cases were confirmed just over a week-and-a-half ago.
Since then, some 57 people have tested positive for the coronavirus - these included 30 of the 34 residents and 27 staff. An unspecified number of other people are also self-isolating after being in contact with those affected.
A mobile testing unit has been set-up on the island to help with efforts to track, trace and contain the outbreak.
The hotspot accounts sudden outbreak accounts for more than a sixth of all confirmed coronavirus cases across the NHS Highland area. The region currently has 317 known cases of the virus. There have been no fresh cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.
