A LOCAL cat welfare charity is hoping to attract more volunteers to help care for cats needing homes.

Cats Protection’s Inverness, Nairn & District branch is on the lookout for an enthusiastic cat lover who can join them as branch team leader, although other opportunities are also available.

The branch needs someone who is organised, unflappable, empathetic and enjoys working with people and, of course, cats.

The branch team leader oversees all branch activities, ensuring volunteers work smoothly together to help as many cats as possible.

The charity will provide all equipment, training and support and promises a rewarding experience for those able to join them.

The Inverness, Nairn & District branch is part of Cats Protection’s national network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 centres that help around 190,000 cats and kittens each year

Although the branch works hard to find new homes for these cats, the charity says, the task is very challenging because for every cat that finds a home, there are many more waiting to come in.

Hence the need for more volunteers to help them continue their vital cat welfare work.

Anyone who would like to find out more about volunteering with the Inverness, Nairn & District branch should email bsunorth@cats.org.uk or call 03000 12 12 12 for further details.
