POLICE are calling for witnesses of a serious road crash which took place yesterday on a Highland road.

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a crash on the A887 near the A87 junction.

The incident happened around 2.15pm on Tuesday, June 28, and involved a white Peugeot 2008 and a blue Audi A4.

According to Police Scotland, emergency services, including Helimed, attended and two men, aged 42 and 46, the driver in each vehicle, were taken to Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

Both have serious injuries but are described as stable, with the passengers in the Peugeot left with minor injuries.

The road was closed for vehicle recovery and crash investigation work and re-opened around 9.50pm.

Sergeant Neil Macdonald said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing with anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.

“If you saw what happened then please make contact with us, particularly if you have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1601 of Tuesday, 28 June, 2022.
