Highland Hospice's 'Catwalk for a Cause' is returning in 2024 after raising a whopping £74,500 last year.

The event due to take place on February 10 at the Drumossie Hotel, raises money for Highland Hospice and the End of Life care Together charity.

Brought to the charity by its organiser Alison McRitchie, the glitzy event showcases models sharing their own personal experiences of life–limiting illness.

The event is incredibly close to heart for Alison, owner of successful Head Gardener hair salon in Inverness, as she herself has battled with breast cancer.

She said: “Catwalk for a Cause is so special in that it gives a platform to brave individuals from throughout the Highlands, each sharing their story about how their life has been affected by cancer or other life–limiting illness. It’s both emotional and uplifting as it gives these deserving people the opportunity to glam up and feel good on the catwalk. A celebration of life, as well as a tribute to those no longer with us. I can’t wait to bring it back!”

STV’s Nicola McAlley will return to host the event, joined by popular local broadcaster Pennie Stuart who shared her own experience of breast cancer last year when she was one of the event’s models.

Highland Hospice fundraiser Emma Nicol said: “We honestly can’t thank Alison enough for bringing this fabulous event back in support of Highland Hospice. The incredible amount raised last year surpassed all expectations – we were genuinely blown away by the generosity of everyone, particularly our event sponsors MKM Building Supplies.

“If you or someone you know would like to be put forward for this year’s event, please do get in touch. All of the catwalk items are hand picked from donations to our Highland Hospice shops across the Highlands, showcasing the incredible quality of pre–loved clothing we have on offer.

“All in all, this truly is an event not to be missed and now we just need our models!”

If you are interested in being a Catwalk for a Cause model, please contact Emma Nicol e.nicol@highlandhospice.org.uk with some details about your story and a clear photograph of yourself.
