Daisy Burnside, 24, is part of the Culloden Detachment 1st Battalion The Highlanders Army Cadet Force.

She has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant for keeping cadets engaged during lockdown and upon returning to face to face training.

During lockdown, Lt Burnside hosted online interviews with fellow volunteer Sergeant Major Instructor Stuart Taggart.

The pair used YouTube to broadcast interviews with well known personnel in the cadet community including Big Phil Campion.

Lt Burnside also created online training so cadets across the Highlands and Islands could continue to learn and improve their skills.

She began a two year probationary period in 2019, which now means she can be confirmed as a Lieutenant.

Lt Burnside was presented with her new rank by the Battalion's Commandant Colonel Mike MacDonald outside the Detachment Hall on Keppoch Road.
