The manager of a closure-threatened Inverness gym says it is "business as usual" as they prepare for the culmination of a month of fundraising activities in aid of Maggie's Highland.

Everlast Gym general manager Nagina Ishaq is one of several people who have been participating in charitable events during the month of February to raise money for the cancer support charity.

Ms Ishaq says that Everlast, which is awaiting a closing date to make way for a new bowling centre at Inverness Shopping Park, will remain "dedicated" to hosting such events amidst recent changes.

She said: "We were delighted to host another charitable event at Everlast Gym Inverness, aimed at reaffirming our commitment to the local community and to reiterate that it's business as usual at Everlast Gym amidst recent changes approved by the council regarding the British Land’s usage.

"Throughout February, we’ve been actively engaging in various initiatives at the gym to raise awareness for Maggie’s and their invaluable support for those affected by cancer and their families."

On Thursday, February 29, a month of fundraising initiatives hosted at Everlast will culminate in a raffle draw and lucky square event. Notable contributions throughout the month include that of gym member Ann Irving who completed a sponsored swim, raising over £300.

Staff members Hollie MacIver and Ms Ishaq also got in on the act, each raising over £200 by completing a sponsored walk. Friday's successful bake sale, organized by members, was declared a "resounding" success, generating over £450 in donations.

Ms Ishaq added: "With just four days left in February, we remain dedicated to our role in supporting a greater cause beyond our gym walls. On February 29, we eagerly anticipate announcing the raffle prizes and presenting the proceeds to Maggie’s.

"Furthermore, members of the Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC team will be joining us from 2pm to 4pm to engage with fans, sign autographs, and help select the raffle draw winners.

"We extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us on this special day as we celebrate community spirit and generosity in support of Maggie’s.”
