FIRE crews were sent to a bus on fire in Inverness this morning.

Two units from Inverness fire station were sent to Caulfield Road after the alarm was raised at 10.43am.

A fire service spokeswoman said the fire was confined to the rear engine compartment of the 43-seat single decker bus and it was extinguished by firefighters using a hose reel jet with two wearing breathing apparatus.

The spokeswoman added that the fire was out by 11.23am and there were no reports of anyone being injured.
