Bungee jumping at Dores on the banks of Loch Ness sees a day of literal ups and downs for Highland Hospice in more ways than one as locals turn out to raise cash for the charity.

One of the touching highs of the event according to organisers was when a those who had been touched by the hospice’s work did a bungee jump together, which moved some to tears.

The organisers said: “What an emotional moment – Leanne and Garry’s tandem bungee jump in memory of Leanne’s mum who was cared for by the Hospice, and their precious daughter Emily, both sorely missed. Huge well done guys, you had us in tears.”

Volunteers at the hospice also got in on the act – like Morag who seemed entirely comfortable and fully embraced jumping from a height of 160ft secured by the bungee as seen in the photo above.

The fun continues tomorrow with the reminder that there are still some places available to book for those who may want to take the plunge and be catapulted or jump.

According to the official pages linked below – the “'traditional' bungee jump will see you drop 160ft overlooking iconic and beautiful Loch Ness. This is a real bucket list opportunity and a chance to raise funds for your Highland Hospice.”

While the catapult promises: “WHOOOSH! - This 'reverse bungee' will see you fly 160ft in the air over beautiful Loch Ness.

"You start on the ground, where you are bound to a bungee rope which is pulled taught and released, launching you into the sky. A once in a lifetime experience!”
