A recently broken Inverness bridge could be back in action tomorrow.

The Torvean swing bridge, which was built as part of the West Link Road project, closed again earlier this week for repairs on the latest of a series of repeated faults.

It will remain out of action overnight, but a Highland Council spokeswoman said it was expected to re-open at some time on Friday.

The nearby Tomnahurich swing bridge has been operating normally.

The spokeswoman said: “Engineers carried out the essential repair works this afternoon and, subject to further testing, we expect the bridge to be back in operation tomorrow.”
