RAIL services in and out of Inverness are being disrupted by a broken down train, Scotrail has confirmed.

Moments ago the transport firm said that the issue had now been fixed, around 40 minutes after the breakdown was first reported by it. But it is warning of knock-on disruption on services until 6.30pm.

On its website a moment ago it was warning of disruption to services on the Kyle of Lochalsh, Wick, Aberdeen and Perth lines.

"Due to a train fault at Inverness train services to and from this station may be subject to disruption on all routes," said a spokesman. "The broken train at Inverness is now on the move [but] it’ll take time for us to get back to normal. We expect disruption there until 6.30pm."
