BREAKING: A9 closed in both directions in Inverness due to 'police incident'

Police have closed the A9 in both directions near the Culloden Road overbridge.

It is causing traffic jams elsewhere in the city and motorists are queueing towards the Longman Roundabout and onto the A82. It is also impacting vehicles leaving the A96 to join the A9.

Details of the incident are sparse but emergency vehicles are at the scene.
