A 24-year-old Inverness man who was subject to a court order because he was deemed a risk of causing sexual harm breached it, Inverness Sheriff Court was told this week.

The order prohibited Barry Fraser, of the city’s Meadowfield Avenue, from contacting or attempting to communicate with any female under the age of 16 years old.

But Fraser appeared before Sheriff Gary Aitken on Wednesday and admitted communicating or trying to communicate with a girl aged just 12.

The offence was committed at a house in Inverness on June 30, 2021, two years after the order was put in place, on July 3, 2019.

Without hearing the facts, the sheriff called for a background report to be prepared and sentence was deferred until November 16.

Fraser’s bail was continued.
