It was the beloved cafe that captured the hearts of Cradlehall.

But now a whole new fan-base awaits Brambles cafe and restaurant.

The business venture has entered into a partnership with the Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC Social Club in the city centre.

From the Greig Street premises - affectionately known as the Caley Club - husband and wife duo Andrea and Ross Harrison are once again serving up traditional hearty Scottish food to the people of Inverness.

Aiming to try and corner the market of good pub fare, they are keeping their overheads low to allow customers to pick up reasonably priced food.

As well as a normal menu they are also taking on the likes of pub giant Wetherspoons with themed nights - such as Friday night fish suppers, a fried chicken Wednesday dinner and a curry club on a Thursday evening.

Andrea (47) and Ross's previous incarnation of Brambles at the Cradlehall Business Park closed down last year - leaving locals lusting after their offerings.

But thanks to a intervention by the bosses at the Caley Club the couple are now back in the kitchen and finally bringing food back to the city centre social scene.

As well as offering up grub for football fans on matchdays they will also be hoping to make an impression on casual diners - with families a particular focus point.

Many meal deals - including a drink - come in at less than £10 - a particular point of pride for Ross (45).

He said: "During the weekends we will have members so that will take care of itself really.

"But come Sunday we are back doing roast dinners.

"And trying to encourage more families to come along.

"During the week we have different themed nights as obviously you have to encourage people to come out for example on a Wednesday night.

"It's all at a fair price, in my opinion."

Andrea added: "We've got people coming back over from Cradlehall which is good.

"My aim is to get this place looking really nice."

The couple said they hope to change the old social club image of casual drinking culture to a nice family orientated dining experience.

Plans for the future could include take-away options - subject to planning permission from the council.

However in the short-term the couple hope to focus on what they can deliver in the club's function room.

Ross said: "There's been no food here since the first lockdown.

"The idea is that we work with the club to provide something good."

Andrea added: "We're all about budget. It's not inflated prices."
