A CHILDREN’S story by an Inverness author is aiming to help parents extend the magic of Christmas by providing another reason to keep believing in Santa.

The Christmas Present by Alexander McCabe revolves around the idea of every child being allocated their very own Christmas elf – who is sadly banished to the South Pole if they stop believing.

Mr McCabe said: “The Christmas Present tells the story of nine-year-old Gabriel, who is feeling isolated during Christmas and struggling to believe in Santa.

“Now his elf, Gabriel the Elf, with the help of Gladys the Reindeer, must show him what is truly important this festive season.”

Mr McCabe’s story was first published in 2015 and became a Kindle bestseller.

It is now being launched as a gift box set, complete with a snow globe.

The author is now getting set to embark on a tour of WH Smith stores across the UK to promote the new release, including a date in Inverness on Saturday, December 7.

Mr McCabe said: “I hope to see lots of children excited to hear about their very own elf and to read the story for themselves this Christmas.”
