Body discovered: Family of missing pensioner Ronald Kemp is informed

POLICE Scotland has confirmed that a body has been found in a rural location close to Calcots Road in Elgin.

The family of Ronald Kemp (75) have been informed of the development.

The discovery was made at around 9.20pm on Wednesday.

Mr Kemp, from Lhanbryde, had been last seen in the Kingsmills area of Elgin at 2.20pm on Monday, April 12 and an extensive search involving Coastguards had taken place.

A police statement said: "Following appeals in relation to the missing person Ronald Kemp who was reported missing from the Lhanbryde area, Police can now confirm that about 21.20 hours on April 14 the body of a deceased male was found in a rural location off of Calcots Road, Elgin.

"Ronald's family have been informed. The public are thanked for their assistance with the enquiry."
