SEVEN artists have been added to the line-up for the 2024 running of MacMoray Festival in Elgin – with boyband Blue to replace Atomic Kitten.

Atomic Kitten have pulled out of the festival due to "unforeseen circumstances" and were immediately replaced by Blue, organiser Andy Macdonald explained.

Six other bands have been added to the line-up. The Hoosiers – famed for their hits 'Goodbye Mr A' and 'Worried About Ray' – will add an early noughties feel to the festival.

Eurodance acts DJ Sammy, from Spain, most well-known for 'Heaven', and Danish group Cartoons, who sing Witch Doctor, will also join the line-up.

The new acts added are completed by Black Lace, singers of 'Agadoo', D:Ream, who sung 90s hit 'Things Can Only Get Better' and Boyzlife – which consists of Brian McFadden, of Westlife, and Keith Duffy, of Boyzone.

Organiser Andy Macdonald was delighted to confirm the seven new acts – which continues the festival's family vibe.

He said: "There is something for everyone – I try to completely mix it up.

"It's unfortunate that Atomic Kitten are not going to be there, due to unforeseen circumstances, but we have immediately replaced them with Blue.

"There are going to be songs that are fun and keep the festival's family vibe. We want it to be as happy and fun as we can and we are doing that.

"One of the magical things is that the event pulls everyone together, and it is this mad mix of music that does that."

The newly-announced acts will join The Drifters, Scouting For Girls, Hue and Cry, Bad Manners, Whigfield, Basshunter and Gareth Gates on the bill. A total of 14 acts have now been confirmed for the event.

Artists are keen to visit Moray due to the good reputation that the festival has picked up over the last two years.

Andy added: "The demand of artists to perform overwhelms me, I'm happy and proud about it all. Word has spread throughout the industry – it's a vibrant event."
