Black Isle Show set to return after two-year Covid-enforced postponement as key event in north farming calendar announces NFU Mutual as headline sponsor

Plans for the 2022 Black Isle Show are gathering pace after a two-year delay because of the Covid pandemic with the announcement of a headline sponsor for the August 3/4 event.

The Black Isle Farmers' Society said it was delighted to confirm headline sponsor as NFU Mutual agencies, Dingwall, Thurso, Elgin and Inverness.

NFU Mutual is the UK’s leading rural insurer.

Founded in 1910 as a farming insurer, NFU Mutual has grown and expanded its expertise to provide specialist insurance, pension and investments products for personal and business customers in and outside of the farming community.

BIFS president Freida McKenzie said: “We are delighted that NFU Mutual have come on board as our main sponsor for the 2022 Show. "Our local representative, NFU Mutual agent Jonathan Hogg, received the NFU Membership Flame Award for outstanding efforts in recruiting and retaining members at a packed NFU Roadshow in Dingwall in May and we look forward to working with him throughout the year."

She added: “After a two-year gap since the successful 2019 show, we are looking forward to welcoming members, competitors and members of the public to one of the friendliest shows on the circuit. Our trade stand holders are also delighted to be back with their agricultural, food and craft-based products to present to the public and we have several new attractions lined up including the return of

p the much-loved open dog show. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the biggest one day show in Scotland.”

The Black Isle Show will take place on the Mannsfield Showground, Muir of Ord with a preview show being held on Wednesday, August 3 from 4pm and Show Day on Thursday, August 4. This year sees three breed society shows – North Country Cheviot National Show; Scottish Hereford Breeders Association Scottish National Show and the Scottish National Simmental Show, whilst in the main ring there will be performances by Big Pete and The Grim Reaper monster trucks.
