A COMMUNITY hall on the Black Isle will tomorrow (Saturday) host a special sale to help fund roof repair work.

Resolis Hall will be the focus of the event running from noon until 2pm.

Books, home baking, plants, bric-à-brac and second-hand clothes will be amongst the items on sale.

Teas and coffees will also be available.

One of the organisers, Trish McKeggie, said she was hopeful of a good turnout.

The hall was built following the gift of five acres of land by Major C.J. Shaw of Torrdarroch to be used by the community in remembrance of those who gave their lives in WWII.

On November 29, 1945 a unanimous decision at a public meeting was made that the memorial should be a building for community use. The original cost of the building was estimated at £2500 to £3000. The funds took five years to raise and on May 8, 1959, 14 years after VE day, the hall was officially opened by Miss Eve Shaw-Mackenzie of Newhall.
