A prize bingo night became a grand gesture for a cause helping people with complex support needs.

Dean Stewart (35), a volunteer for Inverness charity SNAP (Special Needs Action Project), raised £1000 at the event for the charity at Café V8.

“It was fantastic to raise a lot of money, and I had a great time organising the event," he said.

"I am already organising another fundraising night with V8 Café at Christmas.”

SNAP provides vital support to both children and young adults, aged five to 19, all of which have complex support needs and learning difficulties.

The charity runs a variety of events providing fun social experiences, encouraging independence as well as building up its members' self-esteem and confidence.

A spokesman for the charity praised Mr Stewart's efforts, stating: "The incredible money he raised will go a long way in helping us to support children with additional support needs and their families, at a time when we are on the cusp of expanding our services to the whole of the Highlands."
