A STRICTLY Inverness contestant went back in time last weekend to raise funds.
Moira Ness, a competitor in this year’s dance competition in aid of Highland Hospice and the Inverness Ice Centre, hosted a 1920s-themed casino night at Inverness’s Craigmonie Hotel on Saturday.
Guests dressed the part in flapper dresses and period suits and were greeted with a glass of bubbly to kick off the event.
Lots of casino games were played thanks to Top Hat Casino who came up from Glasgow with all the necessary equipment including a black jack table.
Music was also on hand courtesy of live band The Shire who played into the night.
Ms Ness, a business owner from Nairn, said the night went very well.
“It was a really good night and everybody really enjoyed themselves,” she said.
“It went really well.
“We were delighted to raise the money.”
Raising £1200 from the event, of her reasons for taking part in Strictly Inverness this year she added: “I get taught how to dance and raise money for a very worthy cause along the way – can’t say more than that really!
“I also needed a personal challenge.
“I am completely out of my comfort zone with this one! It gives me the opportunity to meet new friends and have lots of fun along the way!”
She is partnered with Joe Reilly, a managing partner of an Inverness GP practice.
He is taking part in honour of his mother who died last year of cancer but loved to dance and was a huge fan of BBC show Strictly Come Dancing.
