Simpsons garden centre has been creating a buzz with its latest campaign.

Bee on Board encourages customers to plant for bees and pollinators.

The garden centre in Inverness has given away bee-friendly wildflower seed packets to customers, as well as running competitions to get even more people involved – including the chance to win £250 of vouchers to spend in store for the best bee-friendly garden.

The garden centre team have set up a digital Bee on Board pack which includes information about bees, how to create a bee-friendly/wildlife garden, bee-friendly plants and activities which can be downloaded here.

Simpsons marketing manager Siobhan MacBean said: “Pollinators are so important for our gardens, and it’s estimated that 84 per cent of crops and 80 per cent of wildflowers depend on insect pollination. Unfortunately the bee population is in decline and the effect this will have could be devastating.

“We want to do something about that. We’re looking forward to seeing how many people get involved.”
