THIS month the Nairn Community Centre is hosting an exhibition of Batik Fine Art by Jane Lannagan.

Continuing until March 28 the exhibition began last week.

Most subject matter is represented, from portraiture to landscapes (such is the versatility of this medium)

"It is a sad coincidence that the opening of the exhibition is on the third anniversary of my husband Bill’s death.," said Jane.

"He was instrumental in setting up our Tomintoul Art Gallery in 2000 which we ran for nearly 20 years.

"In that time I produced over 350 Batiks which he framed.

From my artwork Bill copied and printed art cards and prints using the giglee system.

Giglee uses a type of ink which doesn’t fade for 75-100 years.

We sold to over 20 other outlets such as the Botanics in Edinburgh to Eden Court in Inverness.

"That the work is so well presented is a testament to Bill’s craftsmanship. His framing is 2nd to none."

Originals, prints and fine art cards can be purchased at the exhibition

The Exhibition is running from March 2nd to March 28th and the opening times can be found on nairncc.co.uk
