Inverness garden centre Simpsons picked up an abundance of awards at a recent event.

Hosting the annual Scotland & Northern Ireland Garden Centre Association area awards, Simpsons was also one of the big winners on the night.

Prizes lifted by the Inverness outfit included best restaurant, indoor living, indoor plants, gardening products and innovation and creativity.

The firm's outdoor plants team also reached the finals of the Ruxely Rose award for best plant area in the UK, where the top 10 destination garden centres in the UK are assessed for their quality, range and inspiration for customers. The overall winner of the Ruxely Rose award will be announced at the GCA conference in January.

The awards are down to the hard work, creativity and enthusiasm of the Simpsons teams according to managing director Andrew Simpson.

He said: "We are so proud of each and every one of our hard-working, passionate and enthusiastic team and thank them for their continued enthusiasm and commitment to providing an outstanding garden centre to our local community.

"We are also very lucky that we have such a strong and loyal customer base.

"We listen to our customers so that we can continue to deliver the best retail experience we can.

"We are committed to investing in the business and our team so that we can continue to deliver an exceptional experience to our customers and create new employment opportunities for the local community."
