Cyclist rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after A9 crash with lorry at Dalwhinnie

The A9 was closed early this morning after a Badenoch crash which forced motorists to divert for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 2.25am, police were called to a road crash on the A9 at Dalwhinnie involving a cyclist and a lorry.

“The 44-year-old male cyclist was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he remains for treatment.

“The lorry driver was not injured.

“The road reopened at around 5.45am.

“A 31-year-old man has been arrested for alleged road traffic offences. Enquiries are ongoing.”
