A popular music festival in Ardersier is set to return for its third edition.

From September 8-10, Ardersier International Folk Club will bring back the popular folk festival to the village, with most events at the War Memorial Hall.

The club’s George Livingstone said it will be “bigger and better than ever”.

He said: “The weekend event will open with the Traditional Ardersier Ceilidh Dance headlined by the locally loved Andy Ross Dance Band with support from more local legends of the folk scene John Ross, Garrick MacPherson and Derek Ritchie. This will be a fabulous opening to the festival.

“Saturday sees the afternoon concert with performances from a wide range of local talent. The concert is admission by donation to allow families to attend without large costs.

"The main concert will be opened by local band Corralach. This is their final ‘main’ concert as they are retiring from touring and big events."

Two singing workshop with vocalist Sylvia McGowan will also be on.

The closing concert on Sunday will be headlined by Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Harry Bird.

During the weekend there will also be sessions for musicians to join, one of them in Fort George. Weekend ticket holders get free entry to Fort George over the weekend.
