Officers with British Transport Police are seeking information following a hate crime at Inverness rail station.

British Transport Police officers have issued an appeal for witnesses following a hate crime against a member of staff at Inverness rail station.

The incident happened about 9.40am on Monday 12 June near the gate at platforms three and four.

The victim was advising the suspect on cancelled services and alternative travel options when the man began using racist language towards him.

The suspect is described as being a white man, aged about 62 years, about 5ft 10ins with a heavy build, short grey hair and thick glasses.

Several witnesses approached the victim after the incident to check he was okay.

Officers hope to hear from these witnesses, or anyone else with information that may help their investigation.
