Nairn Highland Games returns on Saturday, August 20. But retiring Games Convener Nairn Sandra Ross is appealing for local strongmen and women to get together and form tug-o'war teams.

"There has been a shortage of tug of war teams competing post Covid on the circuit and it's a feature of the games which always appeals to the crowds - both local and visiting.

"We have no entries so far and are hoping we can get some interest through local pubs and clubs entering teams. It's great fun and there's some nice prizes for the winners."

Each team should have an anchor, the person at the back of the rope, and eight other members.
