CHARITIES are being invited to apply for support from networking organisation Highland Business Women (HBW) as the group launches its annual search for its chosen charity of the year.
Applications are requested by December 2019 and shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch at HBW’s charity selection lunch on January 8 2020, where members will select the HBW Charity of the Year 2020.
Each year, HBW invites charitable organisations that are based in, or operate within, the Highlands to put themselves forward for selection.
The HBW will work with the successful charity to raise funds, promote any ongoing projects or campaigns, and use the collective resources of HBW members to help them realise their ambitions.
In 2018, HBW raised £4000 for the Elsie Normington Foundatation’s Haven Project, which aims to build a specially adapted facility for children and young people with learning disabilities.
This year the organisation is continuing to support its chosen charity for 2091, The Oxygen Works – originally known as the MS Therapy Centre – which provides support to people with a variety of conditions.
This will be done through raffles held at monthly meetings, as well as additional fundraising at the annual Highland Business Women awards dinner in March.
The simple application form invites applicants to demonstrate the direct benefits their organisation brings to the Highlands, why they should be selected, and how the charity will work with or involve HBW and its members
Any charitable body that makes a positive impact within the Highlands can apply with the exception of those who have been picked as HBW charity of the year in the last three years,
Application forms can be downloaded via the HBW website at www.hbw.scot/charity or can be requested via email at info@hbw.scot.
