A CULLODEN resident is kicking up a stink about a thoughtless dog walker who is letting their pet soil a neighbourhood lawn.

The angry householder living near Birch Place claims the mess has been increasingly blighting a grassy area between homes for several weeks.

He hopes that highlighting the foul problem will shame the culprit into changing their ways.

The disgusted man, who did not wish to be named, pointed out that local children and the elderly use the grassy open space in good weather.

"There is a lane and grass area behind Birch Place and, as you can see from the photographs, every pink patch is a dog mess," he said.

"It has been going on for a few weeks now. I have my suspicions as to who the culprit is, but I'm not going to say anything without absolute proof.

"Two signs were put up by the local dog warden recently, but to no avail. It is still happening.

"The Highland Council warden can't really do anything unless she has proof or the person and their dog is caught in the act.

"I suspect it is happening early in the morning or late at night because I haven't witnessed anything so far.

"It is causing a horrible mess in what I think is designated a recreational area.

"The lane is used by hundreds of dog-walkers who generally act as any dog owners should and clean up afterwards."
