An environmental management company with offices in Inverness and Carlisle has been acquired by a similar company with headquarters in Glasgow.

All Nevis Environmental staff will transfer to Mabbett and Associates.

Mabbett said this is another step in its strategic growth journey.

The acquisition of the independent ecology, environmental management, and planning services consultancy will bolster Mabbett’s technical team and skillsets and provision of environmental management support for infrastructure projects.

The move is seen as enhancing Mabbett’s technical services in natural capital and land management, climate change and carbon, peatland services, ecology and environmental surveys, planning and development, construction environmental and operational monitoring and asset service

The firm said it is on a growth journey and expect to add additional talent in the future.

Mabbet said All Nevis staff retain former titles and it hopesvto increase office footprint in the coming years.

As part of the acquisition Kathryn Fraser (former MD at Nevis) is appointed as director, ecology and environment group.

It follows Mabbett’s takeover deal of Inverness-based design and planning specialist GH Johnston Building Consultants last month.

Mabbett managing director Derek McNab said: “Mabbett has respected the strength of the Nevis Environmental technical team over recent years through their strong profile and long-established reputation for delivering quality ecology and planning consultancy services.

“Their team values and attributes make them a great fit for Mabbett and we look forward to integrating and working together to our mutual benefit in the years ahead.”

Kathryn Fraser, director of
Nevis Environmental, said: “Joining Mabbett is a great opportunity to expand our technical service offering and enhance our geographical coverage. I look forward to enhancing the personal and first-class service offering we are renowned for and embracing the new opportunities the deal will bring.”

Another acquisition announcement is expected soon.
