A DRUG addict who was spotted inside two unlocked cars in two days had sentence deferred for a background report this week.

Iain MacMillan (32), of Kintail Crescent, Inverness, had been arrested on warrant on the two offences which occurred on May 2 and May 3 in the BBC Scotland car park in Culduthel Road and the Rose Street multi-storey.

He appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to two charges of being in the vehicles whereby it could be inferred he intended to commit theft.

Defence solicitor Marc Dickson said his client had little recollection of the offences.

He added that he was challenged by the two owners and did not react.

MacMillan was remanded in custody pending his next appearance on October 24.
