Active Schools are hoping to recruit volunteers to provide more sessions to children and young people.

The group of primary schools that feed into Culloden Academy, as well as the high school itself, want support to get more young people into sport.

An Active Schools spokeswoman said: "Active Schools are looking to recruit some keen volunteers to help us with our activities.

"Active Schools strive to increase the number of opportunities available to children by recruiting and training volunteers, and building partnerships with local clubs and community organisations, creating a pathway for pupils to continue their participation in sport.

"SportScotland have recently stipulated that all Active Schools sessions should be free, which makes our valued volunteers the linchpin for providing opportunities for young people."

Active Schools are looking for volunteers to help deliver, supervise or give aa helping hand in running activities at schools in Ardersier, Croy, Balloch, Duncan Forbes, Smithton, Cradlehall and Culloden Academy.

The spokeswoman continued: "If you are able to support in any way it would be greatly appreciated if you could complete this google form https://forms.gle/WhS1uqimSsAfei9K9

which takes less than five minutes.

"If you do not have access to Google please contact lynne.fraser@highlifehighland.com or on 07795825603 if you are interested in supporting sport/physical activity sessions in your area."
