A number of banners have appeared near to the site of a former Inverness swimming pool offering accommodation during the current coronavirus pandemic.

The banners in the Glebe Street area suggest that the properties would be ideal for workers, students, visitors and self isolators.

When the Courier contacted the number a spokesman, who would not give his name, said he was a local resident with 15 Airbnb properties – including rooms, flats and houses.

He said they had all been sterilised and cleaned and if local people needed accommodation it was there.

The spokesman said there was an issue with people travelling to the Highlands from the south and he was not encouraging people from outside the area on taking him up on the offer suggesting it would be ideal for "key workers".
