THE A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road has now fully re-opened at Nairn after a gas leak in the early hours of this morning closed it in both directions for almost four hours.

Police and fire crews were called to a site near Balmakeith shortly after 3.15am.

Police added that the leak had been sealed without incident and the road re-opened at around 6.50am.
