THE southbound lane on an Inverness section of the A9 has been closed following a road traffic accident.

The incident, which appears to be a collision, happened earlier this afternoon led to the partial closure of the major road between the Longman Roundabout and slip road leading to the Raigmore Interchange roundabout.

Police said officers were called to a three-vehicle crash at around 5.20pm.

It is understood nobody was injured.
