SOME motorists using the A9 north of the Dornoch Firth are facing lengthy detours after a road crash near the Glen Loth turn-off closed the busy trunk route.

Traffic Scotland confirmed that the road is closed in both directions at Lothbeg following a “two vehicle road traffic incident”.

A spokesman advised drivers to use an alternative route.
