A MAN has admitted assaulting another man when on a night out, a court has heard.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told the attack by Jarvis Alan Mathieson (27) meant his victim needed treatment.

Fiscal depute Emily Hood said: “This took place around 2.30 in the morning.”

She went on to describe the dispute between the two men as a “disagreement” which resulted in the victim suffering a 4cm laceration to his head which required to be glued by medics.

Mathieson was fined £500 with a £20 victim surcharge.

The assault took place on February 23, 2020, in Drummond Street, Inverness. Mathieson, of Dalcross, admitted repeatedly punching his victim on the head causing him to fall to the ground.
