A NAIRN man threatened his family then warned police officers that he would head-butt them, a court has been told.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that there was a 999 call alleging assaults in a house in the town’s Moss-side Brae on the night of January 28, 2020.

Fiscal depute David Morton said officers attended and arrested 28-year-old Ry Carswell of the town’s Church Street.

He made threats towards family members and
was placed in a police
van to be taken to Burnett Road Police Station in Inverness.

But his aggressive behaviour continued in
the van, Mr Morton said, and he head-butted and struck the cage area of the vehicle.

Carswell then made more threats to police and family in the station.

He admitted threatening and abusive behaviour.

Sentence was deferred until April 5 for a background report and his bail was continued.
