Police stopped a vehicle on the A9 near Alness and smelt cannabis.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that a drug test was carried out on Adam Muir (30), of Evan Barron Road, Inverness, on August 29 last year and it proved positive for the drug.

He admitted drug-driving with a reading of 3.9mcgs when the safe limit for driving is 2mcgs.

Muir was fined £420 and banned from driving for a year.
