Tributes have been paid to a Highland hotelier who has passed away following a battle with cancer.

Gaby Monkhouse-Glue ran a converted boathouse hotel upon the Caledonian Canal at Dochgarroch.

The Highland Lassie offered accommodation and food to tourists and locals alike in comfortable surroundings.

However, she and partner Gus had to shut up shop in April to Gaby being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Gaby passed away on board the vessel on Monday May 16, according to a notice from D. Chsiholm and Sons funeral directors.

She was described as Gus's "loving, long-suffering wife and astute business partner".

Before she passed away the couple thanked all their clientèle for their support.

A ceremony to commemorate Gaby's life will be held on Thursday (May 26) at 2pm.

Donations can be made to cancer charities Macmillan Cancer Support and Marie Curie UK at the door.

In a final Facebook post Gaby said: "I feel so blessed to have had the honour of being, in any small way, part if your lives and for that I really do thank you.

"Gus and I thank you also for your understanding at closing, I will have the opportunity of enjoying what we have both created as my home for the rest of my life."
